Thursday 4/20

Today we finished our look at exponent properties with a look at negative and zero exponents in Lesson 13.3.

This now completes all six of the exponent rules that you need to memorize and be able to use to solve and simplify a variety of problems.

  • Product Rule of Powers
  • Quotient Rule of Powers
  • Power to a Power Rule
  • Zero Power Rule
  • Negative Exponent in the Numerator Rule
  • Negative Exponent in the Denominator Rule

Homework: Study for CA by practicing problems from Bullseye game

Wednesday 4/12

Today we continued with the combination method for solving systems.

Common Assessment #5 is on Friday!

Homework: Finish Solving Systems with Linear Combinations Worksheet

Tuesday 4/11

Today we introduced the linear combination method, sometimes called the elimination method, for solving a system of equations.

Friday 4/7

Today we completed a survey for the dance formal and worked on MATHia.

Happy Friday!!

Thursday 4/7

Today we continued our lesson with the substitution method. We found that some of us enjoy the method and others of us do not. Don't worry! We still have another method we are going to learn! Of the two methods, you will pick the one that works best for YOU.

Homework: Systems of Linear Equations WS #1-4 (#5 is extra credit)

Wednesday 4/5

Today we took a look at a new way to solve a system of linear equations using the substitution method. Go through the  PowerPoint one more time to see if you can solve on your own.

Tuesday 4/4

Today we solved a system of linear equations from...CLASH OF CLANS!! We had to figure out how many Giants and Archers our army camp had. We had only 200 housing space units and our army had 120 members. We figured out that we could have 20 Giants and 100 Archers!

Great job everyone! It is always fun being able to connect math with popular games!
