Today we worked on MATHia and took a self-assessment. You had to assess your own class work and decide where you fell on the 4-point scale. You will also be assessing your group members later this week.

The next MATHia Module (Angle Relationships) is due on Friday 2/10. It is only a week and a half away so make sure you are on pace with the deadline.

Today we tackled reflections with the first half of Lesson 7.4. We will finish the other half tomorrow.

We will be taking our Chapter 7 test on Thursday, which will cover all three transformations that we've learned so far:

  • Translations
  • Rotations
  • Reflections

Be sure to study lessons 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4 to get yourself fully prepared.

Homework: Transformations worksheet

Thursday 1/19

Today is class we explored the effects of our second kind of transformation, a rotation, with an awesome Desmos activity.

For those that were absent today, you'll need to complete the activity at home on your own. Head to student.desmos.com and type in the class code that goes with your period.

Period 1: kZ89R

Period 2: 77PSY
Period 6: TN5GT

Homework: Play the Center of Rotation game at home with a parent or sibling

Tuesday 1/17

I hope you enjoyed your 3 day weekend!

We continued our work with translations today with a look at translating linear functions in Lesson 7.2.

We discovered that translating a linear function either vertically or horizontally will change the y-intercept, but will not change the slope in any way.
